I dreamed a dream...life has killed the dream I dreamed

The dream I dreamed was that in my professional and un-retired life, teachers, public employees would be respected for the work we do each day in America's schools. The events of the last three weeks in Wisconsin have illustrated the poor state of affairs in this country when educators and other public employees are the villains of society. Corporations, banks and other businesses escape paying their fair share in taxes and middle class workers must sacrifice a decent wage and their rights to bargain collectively for that wage.

It is a shameful state of affairs that breaking the back of labor unions in this country is the not so hidden agenda of this spectacle in Wisconsin.

As union members, we must stand together, write, call and email our legislators, congressmen and senators protesting this situation. If you can, donate a few dollars to the various organizations supporting the protests in Wisconsin.
